In the current academic system, the department is named as "Agadtantra, Vyavahar Ayurveda Avum Vidhivaidyaka" It includes subject related with Ayurvedic and Modern toxicology Forensic Medicine & Medical Jurisprudence.
VISION
To train Undergraduates Ayurvedic medicines in fieldrelated to forensic medicine.
To bring law and medicine together for preparing medical students for their medical,legal, and Social duties in medical profession.
MISSION
To develop Agadtantra department into a centrewhere traditional Visha Vaidya Chikitsa could be explored and Validated scientifically.
To produce a doctor who is well informed aboutmedicolegal responsibilities during the practice of medicine.
The syllabus and departmental activities are aimed to create a basic awareness of the concept of 'Visha'(Poison/toxin), its types, symptoms and skill to identify and manage back clinical problems.
